Finding balance in the truck
Tristan Tucker
Founder of the TRT Method
See why getting into the truck is only part of learning to balance and move inside it.
More than getting in
Getting into the truck is not the whole task. In Room to Move, Tristan and Alizée work with Carpe Diem on preparing his body for coordinated steps, with the front and hind legs working together.
Inside the truck, he needs room to move his legs and bring himself back to a neutral, resting position. They revisit smaller movements when the turn reveals that he needs more mobility.
Rather than keep asking for more, they stop on small wins and consolidate each step before progressing. The session follows this preparation for travelling, not a completed journey.
The full method for loading and travelling
The TRT Trailer Loading course starts with balance and releasing tension, before bringing that understanding into the trailer.
You then build on that preparation for the road, so travelling is more than getting your horse loaded.
